PowerTheft-FIR against BJP district Prez for thrashing Power officials

Badaun, Jan 30 (UNI) Police has registered an FIR against district BJP president and his supporters for thrashing a senior Power department engineer and other employees for not withdrawing complaint of power theft on Monday.
According to DIG/SSP Chandra Prakash, the FIR against BJP Badaun district president Harish Shakya and his 15 supporters was registered at Civil Lines police station, late on Monday night.
The BJP President and his supporters had reportedly attacked Executive Engineer Vijendra Singh and other officials and also ransacked the office, after they refused to withdraw cases of power theft lodged against one Nathu Ram, native of Awas Vikas Colony.

“When the officials refused to withdraw the cases of power theft, the BJP district president and his supporters thrashed them,” the complaint said.

The DIG/SSP said the FIR was registered after police investigated the matter and found it prima facie correct.
The case was registered under different sections for obstructing a government official to perform his duty.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Engineer of the Power department led a delegation to District Magistrate Dinesh Kumar Singh, demanding action against the BJP leaders. They also threatened to go on an indefinite strike, if action was not taken against the accused.
Two months back, former BJP Braj region vice-president Jitendra Kumar Saxena had beaten up Power Department officials in the district while this month, BJP leader Ashok Bharati had thrashed a sub-inspector and a homeguard inside the Sadar Kotwali.
